Can you buy a Xiaomi SU7 in the Philippines?
Last updated: · Unofficial, not affiliated with Xiaomi
Yes, through private importers, not through Xiaomi. Xiaomi told Unbox in March 2025 that the SU7 is sold only in China, yet dealers such as EcoMax have brought units in, and Zen Auto PH asked Php 4,000,000 for an SU7 Max on Facebook Marketplace. The tax side is friendly: battery EVs pay 0% import duty until 2028, no excise tax, and 12% VAT. The SU7 is left-hand drive, which is what Philippine law requires. Our landed-cost estimate for an SU7 Max is ₱3,311,456 before broker, registration and dealer margin.

Is Xiaomi selling cars in the Philippines?
Not officially. At the local Xiaomi 15 launch, Xiaomi told Unbox that its EV is available only in China (Unbox, 14 March 2025).
In May 2026 AutoIndustriya published photos from a reader of what looked like a Xiaomi car showroom in Baliuag, Bulacan, reportedly selling the YU7 at PHP 3.999M, the YU7 Pro at 4.299M and the YU7 Max at 4.999M. SU7 prices were not available, and AutoIndustriya could not tell whether it was a grey importer or an unannounced Xiaomi subsidiary.
Import rules
Individuals can import a brand-new car: a current or advance year model that has never been registered. Used-vehicle imports are generally banned under EO 156 as amended by EO 877-A, so a car first registered in China is a problem.
Right-hand-drive vehicles cannot be imported or registered at all (RA 8506). The SU7 is left-hand drive, so steering is not an issue here, unlike in Australia, the UK or India.
Duty, excise and VAT
EO 12 (2023) cut the duty on battery electric vehicles to 0%, and EO 62 (20 June 2024) kept that rate until 2028 and widened it to hybrids. Under the TRAIN law, battery EVs are fully exempt from excise tax.
That leaves 12% VAT on the landed cost. For an SU7 Max that is ₱354,799 on top of a ₱2,791,090 car and shipping.
Dealer asking price versus the tax-only cost
Zen Auto PH asked Php 4,000,000 for an SU7 Max in March 2025. Our tax-and-freight estimate at the 25 September 2026 rate is ₱3,311,456. The gap covers the importer's broker and port fees, LTO registration, any warranty they offer, and their margin. Exchange rates have also moved since March 2025.
