Xiaomi EV Tops 30,000 Deliveries Again in May as YU7 Lineup Expands

Xiaomi EV delivered more than 30,000 vehicles in May 2026, the company said on Weibo on June 1, holding above the 30,000 mark for a second straight month after April's 36,702 units. In keeping with its usual practice, Xiaomi gave only the rounded figure rather than an exact count; the precise number will arrive with the China Passenger Car Association's detailed report later in June. May was the first full month with both the cheaper YU7 Standard and the 990 hp YU7 GT on sale.

The print lifts Xiaomi's 2026 year-to-date total to an estimated 147,558 cars, or roughly 26.8% of its 550,000-unit full-year target — a pace that still trails the near-46,000 deliveries a month needed across the rest of the year to hit guidance. The month was bracketed by product news rather than capacity gains: Xiaomi cut the YU7 Standard to 233,500 yuan on May 21, launched the Nurburgring-record YU7 GT at 389,900 yuan the same night, and began GT deliveries on May 29, when Lei Jun handed the first six cars to buyers. Yet the headline volume barely moved month-on-month.

Our take: a second 30,000-plus month reads as stabilization, but the soft, rounded disclosure is the tell. April's exact 36,702 became a vague 'over 30,000' in May even as two new YU7 trims arrived — a sign volume is being propped up by fresh SKUs rather than by deepening pull on the existing range. With the precise CPCA figure due within weeks, watch whether May actually topped April or quietly slipped; the answer decides how hard Xiaomi must price the YU7 family heading into summer.
